TCM Treatments
Many people have a habit of putting off attention to their health, telling themselves they’ll deal with it once they finish their current tasks. However, by the time they address their health concerns, small issues have accumulated into bigger problems, and the cost of treatment becomes much higher. Symptoms such as shoulder and neck stiffness, hand numbness, fatigue, constipation, headaches, insomnia, and bloating may seem like minor complaints, but if not properly addressed in a timely manner, they can develop into serious health issues.
There is a famous saying in the Huangdi Neijing (The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon): "To treat illness, one must seek its root; preventing illness before it occurs is the best approach." This emphasizes that preventing disease is even more important than curing it. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) focuses on restoring the body's internal balance of Yin and Yang. Through acupuncture, cupping, herbal medicine, and other methods, TCM works to balance these energies, regulate Qi and blood, clear blockages in the meridians, and enhance the body’s resistance to illness, ultimately preventing disease before it arises.
By preventing illness early, we can avoid unnecessary pain and suffering. Life is a one-time journey, and without health, everything else is meaningless. TCM stresses the importance of balance—not only within the body but also in life. Whether it’s work or personal life, we must achieve balance. Work efficiently when needed, and rest when it’s time to rest.
So, how can we apply the wisdom of TCM’s “prevention before disease” to our lives? We should regularly assess our health and make adjustments based on our individual needs. Don’t wait until a major health issue arises before taking action.
